French Premier League- Online and Exclusive?

The most convertible television product in France is about to abandon television. This is the result of the shattered negotiations between Canal+ and the French Football League. The demanded price of 2, 5 million euro proved to be too high for the Pay- TV channel, which was pretty upset with the lower ratings of the French elite division, compared to other leading football leagues across Europe. This decision left a gate open for Orange, France’s leading telecommunications supplier, which declared its willingness to pay the sum for the exclusive rights and transmit football via internet, and via internet only. Although the business model is still not clear, this precedent would cast a significant impulse for the further development of internet television in France.
