Roj TV – the Show Must go on..

Transmitting television in Kurdish seems to be a pretty hard task in Europe. At least for Roj TV. After having had enough legal trouble in Denmark, the Kurdish broadcaster is facing serious problems in Germany, because the country’s interior ministry declared the broadcaster for illegal. This decision was strongly influenced by Turkey’s diplomacy,  which accuse Roj TV of being connected with the Kurdish Workers’ Party PKK.

The ban however was postponed by a Leipzig Court, because of legal uncertainty. According to the data of the kurdish society in Germany Komkar, there are more than 500 000 Kurds living  in the country.
